Golfers of every age and ability have the chance to play a round of golf within six miles of Perran sands holiday camp.
Perranporth Golf Club is right next door, and can be reached by car, or walking. It is a demanding course and a handicap card is needed to play here.
St Newlyn East golf club is a new course with 12 holes, and can
be used by beginners. It is usually quiet and with the Lappa
Valley minature train attraction joining it, you can take the
children for a day out as well.
The get to the golf course entrance, turn left on to the Newquay
road at Goonhavern (A3075) and turn right to St Newlyn East after
about 3 miles.
Drive through the village and after a mile you will find the Golf
Club on the left.
The Holywell Bay golf club is two in one. It has a very popular 18
hole course, which is open to visitors, and a delightful pitch
and putt course which children and adults will enjoy.
You will find the turning for Holywell Bay oposite the turning
for St Newlyn East.
As a beginner, I have enjoyed playing at the St Newlyn East course, and the two courses at Holywell Bay, however, my home club is St Kew Golf Club. This is a splendid 9 hole course situated just north of Wadebridge. Equipment can be hired, and food is served in the clubhouse all day.
